About the 301 Panthers

The 301 Panthers not only strive for excellence on the track, but we expect our athletes to excel in the classrooms. We want to ensure we develop true STUDENT-ATHLETES.Our current Team GPA is 3.74. We expect that the principles of discipline, focus, determination and persistence are applied not only in the classroom and the track, but in life! The 301 Panthers track club's motto is to develop our athletes to become the best versions of themselves on and off the track. Coach Rae is a leadership consultant who is an educator by trade.  With 13+ years as a competitive track athlete, Rachelle helps others truly understand the power of resiliency and teamwork, as well as, how to take complete responsibility for success and delays.  She is also personally trained and certified by the John Maxwell Team to provide mentorship, coaching, training and facilitation services to help organizations and individuals to expand their influence in any industry. Rachelle holds a Bachelors degree in Sociology from the University of Maryland-College Park.

Coach Brandon was an exceptional track and field athlete earning 4x varsity letter winner at The Ohio State University (OSU). He brings three years of coaching experience in block starts, proper running mechanics, stamina, and a strong passion for improving the speed of young athletes. Coach B has a Master's in Occupational Therapy and completed his certification. He was a 60M Big 10 indoor finalist with a best 60m of 6.75, 100m dash personal best 10.53 and 200m dash personal best 21.67.

Coach Derek is a native of Washington, DC, he competed as a two sport athlete in Football and baseball in high school. He is a graduate of Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN. He is a strong advocate for youth sports for competitive growth to build character. As a 2nd year coach with the 301 Panthers, Coach Derek has been a positive influence with the 301 Panthers with his energy and enthusiasm for developing championship minded athletes. In addition to his time and spirit dedicated as a track coach. He is also a dedicated youth football coach in the Bowie, MD area.

Coach Warren - Athletic Director

Coach Warren is a native of Washington DC and was a three-sport star – football, basketball and track and field. For the past 8 years, he has been coaching ---Football, lacrosse and track and field. More specifically, for the past fve (5) years, he has been coaching young athletes in track and field focusing on the 400m, 800m and jumps-long and triple. Coach Warren’s athletes have routinely qualified for the Junior Olympics in AAU and USATF. As a new club, Coach Warren has been instrumental in developing the athletes of the 301 Panthers brand to become the best athletes they can become. He uses positive motivation, consistent development of study habits, and Best Practice methods to develop athletes into the best versions of themselves. We build championship mindsets by understanding and building on each athletes’ best qualities and developing the areas of deficiency.

Coach Olu is a track coach and an Olympian, having just competed at the 2016 Olympics in Brazil. Born as the youngest of four to Nigerian immigrant parents, I’m a living testament of where faith, family, and following your dreams can lead. Despite being the only member of my family born outside of Nigeria’s borders, I’m blessed to have maintained a strong connection with my family’s heritage.. Coach Olu participated in Rio 2016 Olympian, is a 2x Nigerian National Triple Jump Champion, is Top 5 in Nigerian History. Top 15 in African History, and 2x NCAA All-American.

Coach Gil - A native of Washington, D.C.  Graduated from St. John’s College High School. Currently a Project Manager for the Federal Government.  Co-Coordinator of the Book Fair at Whitehall Elementary School for four years.  Currently an usher at church and has previously served as a youth usher leader, as well as a servant leader at another church. For the past 2 years, have assisted coaching with the 301 Panthers Track Club. and looking forward to continue being a part of and contributing to the 301 Panthers Track Club family.
